From 1 September to 4 October 2026, Christians around the world will observe the Season of Creation, an ecumenical celebration dedicated to prayer, reflection, and action for God’s creation.
The Season of Creation begins on 1 September, the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, and concludes on 4 October, the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology. It is supported by churches and Christian organisations worldwide, including the Anglican Communion, the World Council of Churches, and A Rocha.
During this season, we encourage everyone to:
• Pray for the care of creation and for communities facing environmental challenges.
• Learn about the importance of water, ecological justice, and our Christian calling to be stewards of God’s creation.
• Take action through sustainable lifestyle choices, water conservation, community clean-ups, or environmental initiatives.
May this Season of Creation help us to deepen our faith, renew our relationship with God’s creation, and become channels of God’s living water in a thirsty world.
