As we enter the season of Matariki, the Māori New Year, we give thanks for the rising of the star cluster that signals a time of remembrance, renewal, and hope. In the life of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia, Matariki is an opportunity to honour God the Creator, to remember those who have gone before us, and to look forward with faith to the year ahead.
On Sunday 12 July, our parish will mark Matariki within our worship and community life. We invite all parishioners to join us as we reflect on God’s faithfulness and our calling to care for one another and for the world entrusted to us.
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” (Psalm 19:1)
All are warmly invited to take part in this special time in the Church calendar.
